The poetic manifesto of la Pangée

A central resource evoking the values upheld by la Pangée, this poetic manifesto summarizes the path taken by the association to implement its projects. It is presented as a preamble to every commitment, every collaboration, every partnership.

It was written by our Tribe to form a common foundation that allows us to move forward. It is also a tool for vigilance that can be read, reread, interpreted, and reinterpreted to inform ongoing discussions.

This text is obviously not fixed, definitive; it is bound to evolve, like all living things.

The Fribourg Declaration on Cultural Rights

Find the Fribourg declaration here, A compass for our commitment. This fundamental text, dating from 1993, serves us as both a reference tool and a reminder of our responsibilities. It reminds us that culture, in all its diversity, is an essential vehicle for dignity, dialogue, and social cohesion. Drawing inspiration from its principles, we ensure that our organizational processes, projects, and interactions are always meaningful, equitable, and respectful of everyone's identity.

The Faro Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society

Find the Faro convention here, A framework for living heritage and participation. La Pangée also draws inspiration from the principles of this convention, drafted in 2005. Supported by the Council of Europe, it emphasizes the right of individuals and communities to appropriate their heritage as a shared resource, within a framework of dialogue and collective responsibility.

While the Fribourg Declaration sheds light on our approach to cultural rights, the Faro Convention invites us to consider heritage – tangible and intangible – as a dynamic common good, shaped by the practices and stories of those who bring it to life.
